Lakeshore United Methodist Church offers many opportunities for its members and friends to work toward achieving our mission, which is

"To expand our ministry in Manitowoc county and beyond

making new disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world."

If you are called to help others, but you may not be able to leave the house or be available to help at any time of the day or night, perhaps you would like to serve in the prayer ministry. You would provide the church office with your phone number and/or e-mail address and then receive a phone call or e-mail message when someone expresses a need for prayer.

Women's and Men's Groups

United Methodist Women meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month with a luncheon at 11:30 am and will include a short business meeting and program.

Men's Group meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month. The men gather at 5:45 pm and share a meal at 6:00, which is followed by a program.

Dorcas Circle is a group of women that meet later in the evenings every 2nd Thursday of the month. We usually meet at Jenn's Java in on Washington Street in Manitowoc.

Sunday School

Lakeshore United Methodist Church offers Sunday School classes for all age groups -- pre-school, elementary school, middle school, high school, and adults. We invite you to attend on Sunday mornings or, if you are so inclined, volunteer to teach or assist in teaching.

JuBELLation Bell Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm

Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm

We always enjoy members and guests sharing their musical gifts with us as special music for church services. If you would like to share your talent at a service, please contact the church office and express this desire to LuAnn or to Pastor Carly.

Community Connections

Lakeshore United Methodist Church is constantly looking for opportunities to connect with our local communities. Here are some of them from the past few years:

Vacation Bible School - During the summer we hold Vacation Bible School at Washington Park in Manitowoc. The event is 4 days long and includes a meal, Bible story, craft activity, games and music. This event is open to the public each year. Lakeshore provides volunteers to help with teaching, crafts, games, music and serving the food.

Fall Festival - Annually in October we host a chili and soup supper in conjunction with a silent and an oral auction. There are also games for children and contests for adults. The event is open to the public.

Your Help is Needed

Are you looking for a way to use your talents to serve the church and the community outside our church walls? We are currently very short-handed with AV helpers. This is not nearly as complicated as it may seem and full training as well as "chair side" assistance will be provided. The slides you see on the screens are already prepared and using the program is a simple as clicking the mouse button or pressing an arrow on the keyboard. Please talk to Allen Robinson, Jackie Ackerman or anyone else you see at the console. They will be happy to get you started.
